Swirly Swirly

I made this card yesterday afternoon when I had a few minutes lol! My image is a sugar nellie by Leanne Ellis and I received it in a crafts beautiful image swap. She is coloured using distress inks. I wasn't sure if I liked these when I first saw them... but I think I'm warming to them and I can see one (or two!) ending up on my craft desk soon.
I've used some BG eva patterned papers and a swirls stamp from autumn leaves swirls 2 which I've stamped all the way round the edge of the card. I've added pink grosgrain ribbon and some stickles for a bit of bling :)
Had a lovely afternoon visiting friends and eating a huge pile of bangers and mash! Ollie has slept on the way home in the car and has now got second wind lol!!

Jewellery challenge #2

These earrings were inspired by the challenge set by Aims over on the jewellery challenge blog. We had a picture to gleen inspiration from. Mine is taken from the colours and the little flowers from which I picked some millefiori glass beads. Is it me or is it really hard to photo earrings? The lighting was rubbish too so very sorry, any tips welcome! I've also used some acrylic flower beads, I just love these, they're so pretty.

I have also been playing (finally!) with my melt pot that I had for Christmas. I made these beads from the feature in Craft Stamper by Leandra French. They're a bit funny shaped but I didn't think it was too bad for my first go!

Everyone should watch this movie!

I've seen a fabbo movie!! Can't stop thinking about it this morning!
Its Twilight! OH Edward Cullen is so handsome lol!
I've wanted to read the book for ages but not got round to it.... yet. Book will be on my bookshelf tomorrow.
Loved the movie, loved the choice of characters gave me a real warm fuzzy oh and so passionate...
Brilliant, definately suggest you see it. :) x

More jewelery

Thank goodness its Friday!
I decided yesterday to enrole on a college course, just an evening one, I narrowed it down to 2- digital photography or jewellery. I deciced on the latter as I had enjoyed making my purple necklace.
Anyway I have been making some more. This pink one is my take on the one from beads and beyond designed by the ladies at the shiny company. I like it but I think my wire should have been a bit thicker.

This bracelet design is taken from "wire jewellery crocheted, knitted, twisted and beaded" by Chrissie Day a super book with some lovely ideas in it. I love the colours in these beads which I bought from my local beadshop "Bangles and tat" (Great shop lol!)
My fingers are a bit sore now though from all the twisting!

Have a lovely weekend, I'm hoping to do a little bit of scrapping with the new gogo kit that arrived this week!

Jewelery challenge #1

I've made this necklace, which I adore for Sarah's (Tiggertastic on crafts beautiful forum) new jewelery challenge blog. She challenged everyone to create a piece of jewelery with their favourite colour. Purple is my favourite colour and this necklace was beads added onto wire and wrapped round a circle of thicker wire and then added to a silver chain.

She's Here!!!

Here she is! Meet Betty the Beetle! Isn't she lovely? We picked her up on Saturday. I was so excited. I haven't bought a car for myself since my first one when I was 19! (I usually get the hand me downs from Paul)
This is her side view....
This is her from the front......

And then the rear view.
I love the colour and she's lovely to drive although the clutch is a bit high (so kangaroo hopped it round the first few round abouts on the way home lol!)
I'm really pleased with it and the kids love it too and Paul will only go out in it under the cover of darkness lol!
Back tomorrow with a pic of a necklace for Sarah's jewelery challenge.

Basic grey and sketch Saturday.

This is for the basic grey challenges site, no.16. Its a sketch this week. Its for my nephews birthday on Thursday. I used BG offbeat papers and a hangler stamped image. He is coloured with distress inks.
It was nice to use a sketch again (and not for a Christmas card!) as I haven't crafted much over Christmas.
This one is for sketch 32 over on sketch Saturday. Its another Hangler stamped image coloured with distress inks. Papers are Laura Ashley and the butterflies and flowers are the freebies from the creativity magazine.
thanks for looking!

Happy New Year!

Hope you all enjoyed a lovely Christmas. We certainly did but more on that later in the month! No pictures today I ve been a very lazy crafter. Will need to time manage after Monday too as I start back to work :( Busy today cleaning and baking as I've got me mum and dad coming for tea.I would like to wish everyone a very happy new year, I think its going to be a special one for me as I've a lot to look forward to. My operation was a kidney transplant for which I am so grateful as the prospect of dialysis was very daunting. I can now carry on with life normally and enjoy my time with Paul and the kids and the rest of the family!!
Have a wonderful day everyone!!
