Oh I'm so behind!!

This is an anniversary card I made for Paul's mum and dad its a pop up card and I've used distress inks to colour my hangler image. Patterned papers were from a scrapagogo kit.

This is day 3 (read post below to find out why I'm so behind!) All my christmas cards are different this year as I've used sketches and challenges. I ve really enjoyed doing them. The photo below shows my journaling inside the card. I've just attatched it with ribbon to my book rings.

Ha ok so I did go awol lol! Thanks for the comment Jane put my butt into gear lol!

Well unfortunately I ve not kept very up to date with JYC I think I made it upto day 7! Things have just gone manic here, I've been making cards writing cards shopping making gifts hospital visits (not me Laura has had an ear op now) and Ollie has finally perked up a bit too. Finally last night I wrapped and bagged up my hand made gifts (duely forgot to take photos derr!) and sat down and chilled! Any way all starts again tomorrow with my hospital check up and then hopefully when we get home some baking (mince pies jam tarts mmm yum!) I'm dreading my food shop need to find a babysitter as I'm not taking the kids. Last year we queued up the isles for ages. Will take some pictures of everyones gifts when they've opened them and I'll post after the big day!!

nite nite xx

A cold crisp morning

Heres day 2 of JYC. I loved doing this last night I really need to speed up a bit though I thought if I already had some of it ready I would be quicker.... alas not the case, I'm still humming and harring over embelishments! I made a little bead pin for this just next to the snowman. My journaling documents the weather yesterday.

This is how it looks today! Its all crisp and glistening and sunny too but soooo cold! I do like days like this but I like to be wrapped up warm inside too.
I was a busy bee last night making blessing boxes filled with choccies for teachers and play group leaders. But then at bedtime I couldn't sleep (again!) so I got up and made a stampin' up wish list... Its huge! lol! Then I happened to wander over to willow tree crafts and the organized and inspired scrapbooker fell into my trolley along with some calendar stamps! Gosh! How did that happen??? Think I might have a little look at it when it comes and then tell Paul the children can buy it me for xmas ha!
Right off to make a to do list for today.

Journal your Christmas Dec 1st

This is my front cover, sorry for the poor scan. I love these wassail papers.I decided to go for an 8x8 scallop book this year. This one is from craftwork cards. Its very eclectic inside already I've used lots of different christmas papers and envelopes and acetate. This is the first page,my manifesto. Much the same as the one on the prompt with just a few words missing and in list form. Lots of inked edges ( everything looks better with ink on it lol!) and then stamped with inkadinkadoo snow clear stamps. Added stickles (A girls gotta have bling!) and little gems.
Todays prompt is weather.... and guess what??? We had snow this morning!! Great big huge flakes! Unfortunately it didn't last long and most of it has turned to mush now. :(
Ollie found that he could climb on the table today to open the matchbox calendar to eat the chocolate pennies! Luckily Laura caught him before he ate them all! He hasn't got the concept yet that we only do it once a day!
Back later to link up to the forum.

Journal your Christmas.

Looking forward to today its the 1st of December and that means journal your Christmas with Shimelle! I did it last year and have loved looking back through it this year. I've gone for 8x8" this time to give me more space to journal. I'll update later with pictures.
Spent last night making snowman soup for gifts and pink atc s for a swap. Had great fun!
The children have opened the advent calendars this morning to find white chocolate coins and a "making Christmas cards " day. I think I'll set them off then leave them to see what they come up with!
Happy journaling xx

Projects to share and new hair

Lynne's birthday card uses cosmo cricket papers from one of TSV s over on qvc, fancy pants chipboard heart, autumn leaves swirl stamps and a Sarah Kay image coloured with walnut and antique linen distress inks and then covered with crackle glaze (wow this stuff really works!!)
Really enjoyed doing this card!
Re
Ok so heres the" hair" the still not quite sure about it but I do like the colours my hairdresser put in. (Sorry for the cheesy grin)

This is my matchbox advent box. Anyone wanting any matches let me know I now have a bag full lol! Sorry about the picture I think I must have had bad tremors today because all the ones I took were shaky!

I've used basic grey wassail papers and craftwork card paper flowers. I've used loads of stickles for the Christmas bling and added snowyjo and gingerbread man stamps from imaginisce on the sides. The numbers are Making Memories.

This is Lynnes birthday present its a recipe book holder that I got from the NEC last year. I've altered it by painting with acrylic paint and then covering it with paperloft well worn papers. I've cut out some images from some Tim Holtz papers and stamped a tilda which I then cut out with nestabilities. I've aged everything with walnut distress ink and then painted over it with decopatch so its wipe proof.

Bad best mate time!! So sorry Lynne Happy birthday hun xxxxx Will see you tomorrow xx
x
Made this card yesterday with some oddments I had left out my scrapagogo kit and new stamps from the NEC which I love they are clear stamps by inkadinkadoo. I think this one will be for Ollie.
Bought 24 match boxes today and have started making another advent calendar (sour cream containers done and ready to hang when me dads found me a twig! Paul says by the size of them I'll need a tree!!) Its looking good just need to finish decorating the side panels.
I've decided to do Shimelles xmas journal again this year. I really enjoyed doing it last year. I'm trying to make it easier for myself by having my journal pre decorated.... but why is it I keep
putting it off?? I have started it but its just the decorating bit that bothers me. Think I'll keep it simple for now and then add more as we get the prompts.
On a different note I'm glad they saved JLS tonight on x factor although I think Cheryl did some tactical voting as theres a lot of girls still in the comp.
Right I'm off to bed
night xx

Hello peeps!
Well.. a certain lady has made my day today. Thank you Kirsty for the lovely comment you left me. Gotta love that lady!
I've took the plunge and had all my hair cut off today!! Which is fine today not sure about tomorrow though when I've slept on it! Also purchased some tigi bed head to help me along. I might post a piccie tommorrow in better light and when I've had time to tweak it.
I did this card the other day. The scans not very good because of the bead trim which I found along with the ribbon in our local cake making shop.
Had a little play with my new snowflake cuttlebug die and was happy to find an ebossing one in the packet too!
stamp is a penny black not sure what its called as my friend gave me the image.
Going to look for more xmas presents with Paul while we watch hell boy on dvd.

Swap goodies

After being impatient yesterday , look what arrived in the post for me today!! The top photo shows a little rak of earrings from hostess with the mostess Rachelsian and bottom photo is a gorgeous bracelet from the October crafts beautiful jewelery swap also from Rachelsian. Thank you hunny xxx

Just a few..

Over at Basic Grey Challenges this week they asked you to make a card for the boys, so I took the oppotunity to make a christmas card for one of my sons using BG Wassail papers that I got from the NEC at the weekend. I coloured Luca with distress inks and added some stickles for a bit of sparkle.
This one is from last weeks ismaki sketch or there abouts anyway. I wanted to try it out all week but didn't get round to it and by the time I did my little hand drawn sketch in my book(I know I'm very sad!) was a bit more difficult to follow lol! But I like the results. The papers are from the November scrapagogo kit.

This one is for Sketch Saturday. Mum asked for a boy birthday card so this was a brill quickie make. Papers are BG Offbeat.

Yay!! Yellow box day!

Whoo hoo!!! Yellow box day today! I loved this kit when I first saw the sneak peeks and couldn't wait for it to arrive. In true scrapbookers style I took the kids out during the half term to capture some woodlandish type photos especially for the kit!!

We went out to Elvaston Park (with of course a quick sneak into Hobby horse crafts for mummy!) It was freezing .... but we managed a picnic and a wander round the grounds before Ollie was really cold. It really is a beautiful place to visit.
I was very impressed with the photos I took and absolutely love the photo of Ollie in the big stone circle.
Anyway these are the layouts I've managed to finish tonight and I don't feel too guilty about scrapping tonight as Paul is busy doing work things tonight lol!

Monday, 10 November 2008

Well 2 of my 3 children are poorly sick and have been most of the weekend :( I hate it when your kids are poorly cos theres not a lot you can do for them. Luckily they are sleeping through most of it. Fingers crossed I don't get it...
I managed to squeeze some crafting time though this weekend and made my Christmas planner. People keep asking what the kids want so I thought I would start to be organized lol!I saw this idea on the inspirational blog in the tips and Techniques section.
I used a file folder lots of distress ink and KandCo peppermint twist papers. The stamp on the front is a Sarah Kay christmas stamp, the joy of giving.
Jamie seems better tonight so hes back at school tomorrow lol!

Its Thursday......already!!

Just a few things to share since I last came on. I did this tilda card from the sketch at
magnolia vs stampavie. As you may have noticed my colour theme for xmas this year is pink and green lol! I just love these sparkly pink prima flowers too!
This is a card for my grandmas birthday using BG 2 scoops. Its not for a while yet but I thought I'd start getting on top of things. Birthdays and xmas are catching up quick! ( Plus I think I might be back at work soon.....oh : (
THis card is for the Christmas theme over at the Basic Grey challenge blog. Its figgy pudding and I just love these papers from the range. Definately my faves.
I have spent the morning putting washing away and tidying up bedrooms..... time for a little crafting I think!!
Later x

Long post!

So this is Jamie's pumpkin. We saw one like this at a Halloween party we went to last week. When we carved them on Thursday this is what he wanted to do. We saved all the insides and put them on a tray to look like sick... sorry!
These were our wonderful cupcakes that we had great fun creating we have spiders ,aliens and snakes in the grass.
This is Laura's pumpkin. I cut the little pumpkins out and she cut the big hole. I think it looks great!

Onto todays card challenges. This one is for Sketch Saturday. A bit quick off the mark for me, but I loved the sketch. Papers are Kand Co peppermint twist, imaginisce gingerbread man stamp and a craftwork cards xmas flower.

This one is for This Thursday. I surfed my 5 blogs and stopped at Juliets. I loved her circle xmas tree so decided to make a similar one using hearts with my art from the heart stamps. I used a scallop die card and backed it with papermania papers and added the tree. I've doodled around all the borders and the scallop edges and added lots of stickles to the ends. The pink star is a prima one.

Thanks to all who have popped in for a look and left comments. Its lovely to know that people enjoy looking at my cards and projects!

Another card made with my papermania papers for the Sketch Saturday challenge. My image is Snowy Jo by Imaginisce, the gorgeous flower is from Prima and the ribbon is from Angel Crafts. The card is cut using the scallop XL die for the big shot.

More cards and challenges

Been busy doing a few challenges and thoroughly enjoying it! Made gingerbread people (we have a set of family cutters you know lol!) yesterday at the request of the youngest member of the family. They had great fun!
Here's my first challenge.

This one is for the This Thursday Challenge blog. The challenge was 'Throw a curve'. I decorated a tin using the free downloads on the site from Pink Petticoat, they're just gorgeous. Thank you.

This project is for the cup cake craft challenge blog where the challenge was 'theres a hole in my bucket' and we had to incorporate a hole into our entries. I found this box that held body butters and decorated it with the free download papers from the above site. I painted the box with acrylic paint first, covered it and added plain jane chipboard swirls and american craft felt flowers and some bling.

Iused papers from my last scrapagogo kit and the image is a pink petticoat one coloured with distress inks and sakura pens.

This one is an ATC for the http://pennybfriendssaturdaychallenge.blogspot.com/ I'm using it as a card topper I think its from the bubbles clear stamp set. My friend gave me the image and I love it. Definately going to buy these after pay day!!

This one is for the http://basicgreychallenges.blogspot.com/

The challenge was to add stitching to your creation so I got the sewing machine out and had a little play. I've used archaic papers,an oddment of brown ric rac and a stamps away birthday stamp. Great challenge I love getting my sewing machine out!

Paul has had to turn the old computer on for me as my software isn't compatable with vista so I have to do some saving up now for photoshop elements...... will be able to dable in some digi scrapping then though!!

Help!

Had a great clear out on Saturday, continued on Sunday after we went and bought a new laptop printer/scanner. Only trouble is now I've got to find out how to use them cos Paul's not uploaded my usual scanning program yet.
I do now have a craft table permanently in the lounge though so its all good! Got more sorting to do later on as we emptied the cd cabinet out and they're all sta cked up in the conservatory.
Little things exite me and this morning we went out looking for a gingerbread man cutter....well we not only found 1 we found a family of 4!!! How sweet!
Be back later when I've learnt how to use the scanner.

More new stash!

My yellow box came yesterday from http://www.scrapagogo.co.uk/index.php and it was gorgeous!! I haven't used any of it yet (and I've still got so much left from past kits!) but I think I just want to look at this one and stroke it! I wish I'd signed up years ago.

I did manage to finish off a layout last night. Its one of me and my daughter. She's 10 and at the moment we seem to be falling out a lot so this is a rare moment. I used past scrapagogo kits for it.

Challenges and creativity

I've done this one today using the sketch from http://aspoonfullofsugarchallenge.blogspot.com/
Peppermint twist papers and I've used my elegance sizzix die for the accent at the top. I'm not sure which magnolia stamp it is as I got it in a rak from my friend.

I had a new koi waterbrush yesterday so I had a play and coloured
Luca with my distress inks. I love it! I used my
new peppermint twist papersand embelishments and some ribbon from one
of my scrapagogo kits.

Found this blog last night after trying to find instructions for putting links on.(Still not fathomed it out lol! But working on it!)

The challenge was a colour combo one I chose red, maroon and green. I've used a mix of basic grey the greenis 'green bean' from the vagabond collection, the maroon is 'Little red riding hood'from perhaps and the red is 'vintage floral' from the sublime collection.

This is my youngest son on a mission to get to the top of rocks.
